I have the same issue. I posted in another forum that the Aussie, when mixed, becomes thick. I put it in milk and fuggedaboudit...it was pudding.
My best advice is reduce the serving size (i go for thirty grams, and in my mind this approach makes sense since aussie is a slower digesting protein anyway) or go with your present routine of mixing it and allowing it to sit. Letting it sit for a few minutes is not going to affect the protein...a half-hour to an hour will allow for degradation but not if you are just letting it sit for a few minutes.
I know what you mean about the inconsistency factor...I wrote one of the customer service reps because I ordered a couple custom mix with 20% Aussie in it and another with an additional 20% IPI with the aussie and both mix very thick even in water, kind of like the original met-rx meal replacements. Prior to this order, I had custom mixes with as much as 60% IPI and 20% Aussie and they mixed into a nice drinkable consistency.
So, you are not the only one to experience this phenomena. I can't account for why this should be so but, it is.
