Alex- protein cookies

AR- last year (towards the end of the year) several of us were talking about sites that pre make protein cookies and you mentioned that you were going to buy some and check the ingredients, possibly even push PF protein into their product (ok that may have been my idea ;o) so what ever happened?

I would love to see a PF cookie for an after noon snack of some sort-

That would be nice, since so many of the cookies are filled with garbage. Well not completely, like Trioplex cookies are pretty much cookies that just happen to have protein in them lol. Which is why they taste so good it's ridiculous.

Any kind of snack would be good, a decent bar even. Only ones I see by ingredients at least are VPX bars. Please tell me if I'm wrong because they are my emergency stash in glovebox.

Somebody actually told me about a really cool new product called "whey crisps".

I actually made a smores with them, and it was really good.

Super Protein Smores
1 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons low fat marg./ butter
1 sleeve low fat graham crackers
3 cups chocolate whey crisps
1/2 cup chocolate chips


1. Melt margarine in a microwave safe bowl for 30 sec.
2. In another microwave safe bowl heat 10 oz of marshmallows on high for 1min 30sec. Or until marshmallows are soft and can be stirred with a spoon.
3. Take marshmallows out of the microwave and immediately dump in margarine, stirring until totally combined.
4. Slowly add chocolate whey crisps and chocolate chips, continue stirring until until crisps are completely covered with mixture.
5. Crush the graham crackers and add to mixture
5. Pour mixture into a 9x11 greased pan, press into pan. Leave on counter until cool. Slice and eat!!!

As bars go, I think the VPX ones are about the best out there from the standpoint of something that is made from real food and tastes decent. Only thing is they have a ton of calories, so obviously that has to be taken into consideration. And, no matter if it's real or fake, sugar is sugar, so if that's something you're watching from a health standpoint, it does contain a fair amount. I know they say it's low glycemic blah blah blah, but if you look at the ingredients, there's a lot of it in there, albeit in various forms. They are pretty tasty bars though! Prolly better than a snickers!

Chef Jay's Trioplex cookies are pretty good too...mostly soy protein and a little whey according to the label but if you just have to have a cookie I would recommend these and they taste delicious.

I used to eat them all the time but I decided to kick that habit to the curb. Yeah, they are convienent but I really don't think they are that good for you. I usually throw protein in a sandwich bag with some oatmeal instead and try not to wear it when I pour it into my mouth. I am sure it looks stupid but vanity has no limits and I could care less what others say. They just accept me for my strange habits and sometimes make jokes but at the end of the day they wish they had my dedication.

Hey markboots! You're right, they're definately not 'good' for you. Besides, whatever you're doing is working because you look great! Are you naturally lean or do you have to count calories, etc. like the rest of us?
