Hey everybody, so I recently got a morning job and decided to get my workouts done before I head off to work. Now here's the problem, I've heard that cardio before eating burns fat great, but skipping breakfast is awful. Yet nobody seems to answer AT WHAT POINT IS BREAKFAST NOT BREAKFAST??!
Quick reference, I am 5'7, weighed around 137 before I switched to this regiment, but now am gaining...muscle I hope (started more weights)
I wake up at around 6:50, have some coffee/check email, then hit the gym from 7:45-8:15, or about 300 cal worth of cardio in the 80% heart rate range. Come home, shower, do a few pull ups/push ups, then bike to work (another half hour, prob around same calorie amount)
By now its 10 am and I am finally having my "breakfast" of a protein shake blended with eggs, flax, and berries with some almonds in the office.
So heres my question: Am I destroying my metabolism or will this morning workout help me shed more fat? Im going for a lean body and ideally want to just cut my body fat percentage, though Im scared I might be hurting my metabolism more than burning fat in the morning. Advice please?
Thanks in advance!
