Resvida (Resveratrol)

The only brand of resveratrol I would consume. Made by DSM, the same company that makes PeptoPro. You want to make sure you use this brand of Res-v because due to the popularity of this raw material you have alot of version coming out of China. So if you want to buy a res-v supplement, make sure its the Resvida brand.

I think I may have posted this before, but I work with a Research Fellow from the National Science Foundation who knows just about everything about everything (190+ IQ) and he was telling me about the research behind this compound, which I will post a laymans summary if anyone is interested, because it really is quite interesting.

I get really turned off by the "may" do this or "may" do that thing. If it does the things it claims then you don't need the "may"!!!

Here you go DJones, this is a laymans summary but it details why Resveratrol is becoming a widely studied compound.

From my buddy Paul:

Twenty years ago, many serious scientists thought they had found a “fountain of youth.”
They found the “inner clock” in the DNA which kills off all healthy lines of cells in the body when they reach the 50th generation. They found how to turn it off. The problem: when they turned it off, cancer would proliferate. Cancer results from all kinds of random mutations which occur in ordinary life – some of it from background radiation
we have no sensible way to control. People gave up.

But in the last few years, there have been new discoveries. By analogy – engineers have learned how to build codes which get rid of the noise in communication channels. Nature has done the same thing. There are certain genes which provide a natural control over the mutation and noise which causes cancer (and also causes the rest of aging, except for the inner clock). When these genes are activated, it may cost a little extra food, but
the noise rate goes ‘way down. I don’t remember all of the details… but there is a SIRT1 gene and sirtuins…There appear to be natural ways to double the action of these natural noise-killers. We don’t know how much resveratrol is needed to double, say, the remaining human lifetime...but we know it activates these things. There may be better ways to activate them as well; this is a new area of research and understanding.

People still argue about whether resveratrol helps explain why people who drink a glass of red wine every day live longer and are healthier (except in pregnancy). I would guess that it’s not the small amount of resveratrol in the wine, but other ingredients, which are good for the heart and blood system. But the Costco product has those other ingredients as well. Some people I know assert that there are Mediterranean wines which have more resveratrol than what we get here, but… I don’t know. There are some Greek wines (and Ukrainian and Moldavian) which could conceivably be better…

thanks for posting debruynda. been hearing alot of interesting data about res. i've heard, can't recall which doc, that his study showed that for pos results the dose would have to be huge. jury still out on this 1 i guess. thanks again

I meant the article, there are just way to many supplements out there that claim things...I could spend a fortune! I want proof that it works.

Thats how companies get away with their claims.Dat der celltech MAY cause celltech rage.Dat der celltech MAY cause you to wake up the next day 8lbs. more swole.Dat der celltech MAY put you in the poor house if you keep buying it.

Could this possibly be a way to treat high blood pressure naturally, I'm still trying to find a natural alternative to blood pressure medications.
