does zinc help or not?

ZMA is a mineral supplement that supposedly supports testoterone and lean muscle mass. This is a complete scam and ripoff. It will do nothing for you. If you dont believe me go and read the book "Game of Shadows" and it will give you truth of ZMA

And if you say this on another forum as i have,oh boy,let the e-fights begin lol.Everyone has all these ''studies'' that shows it works.

Yeah, these stories are always punctuated with the follow up about how ZMA gives you really weird dreams. I can see the corallary there...weird dreams=nocturnal anabolism.

You get the same amount of the same minerals in a multivitamin as you do from a ZMA serving...so why do so few people make the connection?

And when i bring that up about it being in a multi,they still dont get it.And say how they noticed muscle gains from it lol.

Hi,
I am 46 and want to increase my Testosterone for muscle and shall we say politley, lifestyle reasons. Will zinc help or not? If so, what daily amount?

Hi Bill,

Higher doses of zinc may cause (and I say may because it has been reported) sore throat, unusual tiredness or weakness, ulcers, sores in the mouth or throat. Misuse of zinc can also bring your hdl level down and may bring down your immune system (large dose over extended period of time).

However, proper use helps to fight off colds and sickness and reading some info seems to be in the 10-20 mg a day- but again, depending on your health you may simply want to call your dr. This is one supplement that you dont want to over do it on. SImply meaning taking large doses of zinc alone, IMO would not be wise.

Much like many vitamins that over used, the side effects can be a bit nasty.

As far as using zinc as a stand alone for increase in lifestyle reasons, I have never been one to run to the medicine cabinet and choke down a few zinc pills.

I never noticed any strength or muscle mass changes when I took ZMA all those years ago, however it DID seem to benefit my sleep. ZMA and tryptophan are the two suppliments I have noted that have really aided in me getting deep ZZZzzz's.

I'd take good hard look at your overall diet. Have you got the basics down to include healthy fats etc ? Many are deficient in magnesium and B12. I feel that many times so many have essentially garbage diets and then hope one specialized supplement is going to be the golden beebee.

You are 46 sooo have you considered the real deal ? Find a good doctor that actually knows what he/she is doing with hormone therapy. They are few and far between due to the fact many just work their daily big pharma driven flow chart, pump you and your kids full of vaccines, are not well read on hormone therapy and buy into the hype of those scary scary steroids and or are afraid of scrutiny of prescribing Schedule III "drugs". Like omg you might turn into a baseball player LOL.
