Super Plasma Absorption Rate and Dose

I don't know the absorption rate, it is not a hydrolyzed protein so I would venture a guess at somewhere between a whey and a casein.

As for dose, it is very potent stuff, but depending on your budget and your goals you can see effects anywhere between the 10-20gm range. I typically get about fifty grams spread throughout the day.

Bovine plasma contains a lot of protein subfractions, much more than a conventional protein, that is why you can use less and expect more,so to speak.

Ok. It just seems to me that, being plasma derived, the majority of this stuff's constituent proteins are going to be Ig, peptide hormones and maybe some residual hemoglobin, all of which are not very big, so I thought this would have a fairly fast absorption rate.

Also, what is a subfraction? That's a buzzword I've seen several times and it only seems to be referencing those peptides that have some enzymatic or endocrinological activity.

IGF-1, insulin like growth factors. That is something that could be referenced too when talking about protein sub fractions.

Beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactalbumin, immunoglobulins (IgGs), glycomacropeptides, bovine serum albumin (BSA) and minor peptides such as lactoperoxidases, lysozyme and lactoferrin all fall into the category of protein sub fractions.

Because super plasma protein is derived from, ahem, bovine plasma, it is naturally going to have a much higher concentration of these sub fractions than say a whey, which won't have nearly the same amounts or concentrations as the plasma.

This is my understanding, I think I am right, so if I am wrong please correct me

For the most part I say this from an anecdotal standpoint, but I am a big fan of the protein sub fraction content of super plasma.

If you want to put on some good muscle, give it a try. It costs extra, but I can't say enough good things about it. I use it in every mix I order.

i agree with you. it is a wonderful product which does help limit muscle soreness and help increase lean muscle gain. i use about 10-15g per day

Ok, that makes sense - so it's pretty much like I thought; subfractions are Peptides with active physiological function.

So another question - what's to prevent those subfractions from being digested into inactive, smaller oligopeptides? I mean, the whole reason why you can't take GH or other hormonal peptides orally (which would fall into the category of subfractions by the above definition) is because they are digested before they hit the bloodstream. That's why they have to be injected.

Wow. That's a really good question. Anybody out there know?

Most synthetic growth hormones like HGH are poly-peptides (not oligopeptides) that are not fat soluble, hence they cannot penetrate the cell membrane, and thus must be injected in order to remain active.
