25% hydrolyzed 520
50% maltodextrin
10% EFA powder
5% creapure creatine
5% glutamine peptides
5% bcaa
with vitamins and minerals

1. Hydro 520 - a very good choice if you are able to digest lactose (milk sugar).

2. Maltodextrin - one of the last carb sources I would ever order from PF ... not with Oatmuscle and HRS available.

3. EFA powder - very good choice.

4. Creatine - another good choice

5. Glutamine peptides - I would have rather spent the money elsewhere ... glutamine / glutamine peptides never did anything noticeable for me.

6. BCAA - same as the glutamine peptides.

All in all, not a bad mix ... how was this mix to be used by you (pre-workout / post-workout / general use MRP)???

My bad ... the topic title told the tale!

Personally I would use the amino's & glutamine preworkout (if I were to use them at all), but that's just me!

why do you say that about the glutamine and the bcaas? is it just from personal experience or is there no real scientific evidence of their benefits?

i would knock out the EFA because it may slow down absorption. i would rather just use that 10% for more protein...

EFA's are usually a great addition to add into formulations, but if you ascribe to the "faster absorption is better post-workout" camp, EFAs (and all fats) will slow down assimilation.

As for the removal of the BCAA's and glutamine from the post workout mixture, I have used both in the past and haven't really noted any improvements in performance with their use. In other words, total anecdotal evidence.

Since they are quite costly, I would prefer to replace them with 3+ times the amount of a good whey isolate, caseinate, or egg protein, or if you want to try something that will really affect recovery and general health, add a like amount of Alex's Super Plasma protein in place of the BCAA's and/or glutamine.
