Differences in whey protein...

I currently use EAS 100% Whey Protein.

I am interested in trying Protein Factory Mega Whey or Premium Whey, are there many differences or are they similar products compared to EAS's offering? Thanks, and nice site with great offerings.

Looking over the EAS protein ingredients listing, their 100% Whey protein product contains a greater % of protein per serving (by weight) than the PF's Mega Whey and Premium Whey products:

The PF's Premium Whey and Mega Whey are probably the same protein product (a whey protein concentrate) ... the only difference appears to be a slightly better discount given to 10 lbs purchases. Note that Whey Protein Concentrate contains lactose (a milk sugar) and a touch of fat, where as Whey Protein Isolate is just that ... isolated whey protein i.e. the carbs and fat are separated (by one of several different methods) and discarded.

The EAS 100% Whey is a combination of both WPC and WPI, hence it's slightly better protein scores. Also note, however that the EAS protein costs ~ $8.00 / lb, as compared the PF's much lower $4.30 (for the 5lb Premium Whey) to $3.99 (for the 10lb Mega Whey).

If you are willing to spend a little more, for $8.99 / lb you can buy PF's Biofresh Whey Protein. This WPI has the following nutrient %'s (by weight)

More protein, less carbs (and therefor less farts if you are lactose intollerent).

If you are budget minded, go with the cheaper PF offering. If you want a better protein, go with their Biofresh.

I have been getting EAS in 5lbs bags for approx. $29 but wouldn't mind trying something else. Thanks for your help.
