Waxy Maize Starch is another shitty product supplement company's sell claiming it digests faster than maltodextrin or dextrose. The the fact of the matter is that waxy maize starch or what it really should be called Corn Starch also contains resistant carbs. Resistant carbs are exactly what they meain. the body CANNOT digest them. They RESIST them.

Preferring malto/dex to WMS
I order two separate PWO custom mixes, one for me and one for my husband (as we prefer different flavors, and he gets creatine). In the interest of full disclosure, I get 35% dextrose, 30% maltodextrin, and 35% WPI. He gets 60% WMS, 35% WPI, and 5% creatine. I ran out of mine before he ran out of his, so while waiting on my next order to arrive I used some of his.
Anyway, every time I use the WMS blend, I feel like crap afterward. I really feel the blood sugar crash post-WMS. After the malto/dex blend, I feel just fine. Not sure why this is, but I will definitely continue ordering the malto/dex.
"I recently had my blood glucose insulin interaction tested and the results were that I am within the normal range, but still sub-optimal. Also, I am hypothyroid, and before I was diagnosed and started on the Synthroid I felt the crash from the malto/dex too. Since getting on the meds I now can do malto/dex with no problem but still feel like s@#$ after the WMS blend.

No one from the company answers her except for the moderator on this forum who posts this.
"lets keep in mind we're all taking about the same thing. carbs. the only thing that is really going to make one "work better" is what you are most comfortable taking."
Here's the answer to help this lady. "The product(s) that you are taking are made from starch. You feel like crap because you body trying to expel the heavy starch ingredients you just drank. Its not natural and you are feeling a direct effect from consuming highly resistant food products. If you must consume a carb powder postworkout use dextrose or something like gatorade. A rice carbohydrate would be best.
