How about we list places where inexpensive food ingredients can be bought.

nice and I'd like to second that. What about listing here to best foods to buy in general to use when you are at work or on the road.

I like the occasional egg salad sandwich when I don't feel like cooking or not in the mood for tuna.

I also to make sandwiches out of frozen fish filets, battered or not.

IMO one of the best on-the-go foods is unsalted mixed nuts. They have lots of good fats and some protein with enough in they way of carbs to keep you from feeling terrible.

Another thing I like is a meatloaf sandwich. Make the meatloaf using ground turkey and turkey sausage that has been taking out of the casing. Add some dijon mustard and about 1 egg per pound of meat. It's tasty and a good source of protein and fat.

Another source of good bulk ingredients is www.bobsredmill.com. If you buy the 25 lb bags, it's typically a good deal.
