Immediately post-workout is the time when your body is aching for nutrients that are quickly absorbed.
Banana's are actually considered a low Glycemic Index fruit so their carbs would not be quickly available to you ... ditto with Oatmuscle.
For your first post workout meal, I would suggest a shake consisting of Alex's hydrolyzed proteins (Pepto Pro, Hydro 520 or Hydro 1400) and a high GI carb source (Rilose or HRS). Either customize a formula or use one of Alex's premixed formulas ... IMO his Sonic Protein is his best post workout formula ... I also like his Advanced Pre Workout Formula as a post workout drink. The sites Recovery Formula is a decent choice if you are more budget-conscious.
If your desire is to use fruit for a post workout carb source, watermelon has the highest GI, but it also has very few carbs per gram, meaning you would have to use quite a bit of it to get the number of carbs your body may require post workout. Also, I can't imagine making a protein shake with watermelon ... talk about a mess!
