My optimal health benefit producing night formula

20% Whole Organic Egg

A high quality Casein source should always be in any night time formula. Casein is reknown for its slow-digesting, curdling properties. I am unsure, however, if there is any appreciable difference between the Australian Caseinate and Miscellar Casein (other than the Australian is instatized) that this site offers. I plan on using a blender to mix my night shake .... Alex, what would you recommend as being the more nutritive casein source?

I chose to include Whole Organic Egg as I have always responded well to egg protein. The whole egg protein also has a very high PER value, and the fats are good for hormone balance/production.

I included both Tri-FX and Super Bovine Protein (SBP) for their health benefits, researched below:

SBP is a protein concentrate derived from Bovine Serum. It's main claim to fame is it's high Immunoglobin make up (51-58% by weight). SBP has a Immunoglobin G (the most common immunoglobin produced in the body) content range of 46-53%

Why is this important?

Immunoglobins act as antibodies during times of high stress, and negate the effects of antigens (introduced/produced) from stressful activities. The high Ig-G content contained in SBP assists the body in negating these effects, which helps to prevent protein and energy loss within the human body.

SBP also contains a high level (3,028 nanograms/gram) of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), a polypeptide protein hormone with anabolic effects in both children AND in adults.

Finally, SBP contains lactoferrin (7.5% by weight, as compared to less than 1% in cows milk). This iron-biding subfraction has immunity enhancing and anti-inflammatory properties, and can also act as an antioxidant.

The PF website mentions the ability of SBP to inhibit the cytokine feedback loop. How this happens I have not been able to ascertain, however if true, would be a good thing as excessive cytokine production can lead to excessive muscle catabolization ... the exact opposite effect we are trying to achieve.

Tri-FX has many of the same health considerations as SBP (albeit in lesser concentrations). The Tri-FX claims-to-fame are:

1. High levels of Transforming Growth Factors (TGF-B) - Similar in function to IGF-1, TGF-B is able to pass unscathed through the stomach into the colon, where it is absorbed.

2. Phosphatidylserine (PS) inclusion - PS inhibits the post-workout rise of the catabolic hormone cortisol and the enzyme creatine kinase in trained athletes.

3. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) inclusion

Acetylcholine is an important neurotransmitter critical to muscle contraction and is synthesized in the body from choline. Plasma choline levels in the body have been shown to drop in athletes after exercise. PC has been shown to help maintain plasma choline levels and improve performance during extended periods of physical exercise. CLA is a bioactive fatty acid which has anticatabolic properties, while simultaneously reducing body fat.

Both the MCT and OmegaMuscle were included for their health benefits, their ability to aid in fat loss, and the slowing down of the protein digestion as a result of their presence.

I know this was long winded, but I wanted to explain WHY I would include such high percentages of non-casein proteins in a night source.
