No matter how you slice it (no pun intended), bread is a man-made product, and the other carbs you mentioned are made by "Mother Nature." I've always held the opinion that if you stick to natural complex carbs, they take much longer to break down and assimilate, and therefore, tend to stick with you longer. As far as feeling tired or drowsy after eating "unnatural" carbs, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you're allergic to something in the bread. Just a thought.

) (I don't eat pasta either--I don't even like it to be honest. It's so plain without a ton of sauce thrown on it! And then it's like, why bother? It doesn't offer much in the way of nutrients either.)
